Baby Development
Our toys are great to help develop your baby in the following areas:
- Fine Motor Skill Development
- Cognitive Development
- Social Development
- Emotional Development
- Speech Development
- Language Development
- Gross Motor Skill Development
Fine Motor Skill Development
This is what is normally known as 'hand/eye' coordination, the luxury toys sold
here encourage baby to reach out and grasp to feel and pickup objects. This a skill
that usually starts to develop around 6 months. Our toys start from birth and our
range of Taggies blankets are colourful and bright and baby will want to reach out
and feel the multi-textured surface. We also sell toys that will help baby to understand
the world around them, for example our
Buggybu Stack A Bug will challenge you child to learn about size and position
as they stack the large rings on the spindle.
Cognitive Development
This is best described as your baby's ability to learn, learning is easiest when
it's fun and that's why our luxury baby gifts are designed to encourage your child
to prolem solve through play. Have a look at our range of
games and puzzles to find the perfect toy to assist your child's development.
Social Development
Social development is essential for your baby to be able to interact with others,
whether this is learning to share their toys with other children or simply spending
some time with mum and dad reading a book.
Emotional Development
It is good for a child to show a wide variety of feelings and be able to express
their emotions through facial movements like smiles or frowns. A well balanced child
will be able to empathise with their friends and our range of
puppets can be used as great tools for helping your child learn about moods
and express how they are feeling.
Speech Development
A baby's babble is their attempt at word formulation, it is a rewarding process
for parent and child and should be praised highly to encourage continued effort.
Simply repeating the noises back to baby can be a great way of showing them that
you understand them. Baby toys that make noises can be especially fun and they can
encourage your baby to mimic and give the parent noises to make that have meaning
in context with the baby toy.
Language Development
Learning toys like our
Elmer Peg Puzzle are an ideal tool for helping baby play with language,
firstly it will encourage recognition of the shapes and characters which in time
will allow baby to display a working knowledge of these items.
Gross Motor Skill Development
These are the larger muscle groups which will enable baby to sit up, walk, hold
heavier objects etc. These can be strengthened by encouraging the right kinds of
play with the right kind of toy. Our
push along toys will help a crawling baby to build strength in their arms
and will aid balance when walking.
